Questionable estimate

I solicited 3 estimates from reputable liscensed electricians personally referred to me by other property owners. Your estimate was 3 - 5 times the cost of the other estimates! This was apparently partly because your technician required installing a new box that both of the other electricians say is NOT necessary. As an older woman it really feels as though you are trying to take advantage of me.

Response from Haas & Sons Electric Inc.:

We appreciate the opportunity to assist you. You contacted us regarding a power outage and requested a quote for installing a line for a 240V stove. We discovered that a GFCI had tripped, which we reset, restoring power. As per your requests, you wanted to switch from a gas stove to an electric one, install a surge protector, and have the option to add another washer/dryer in the future. Your existing electrical panel is completely full and cannot accommodate additional circuits. If someone else has suggested they could add the stove circuit to your panel, they are not adhering to our national code and safety standards, and I urge you to have them obtain a permit for their work. Our quote is higher because we perform the work properly, allowing for the future expansion you wanted and protecting your home with the surge protector you requested.

Excellent Service

Michael was very nice & helpful. He explained what needed to be done in terms anyone could understand. I did not expect same day service. That was a big plus. I didn't have to find time for a second visit. I would highly recommend your company to anyone needed electric service.

Very good service.

It has been quite a while since I needed an electrician and like everything else the cost for reliable/quality work has gone up. I'm glad I had it done but the cost was more than I expected. However, it was necessary and Michael did an excellent job. I recommend the company, the excellent technicians and the superior service just plan on the cost in the budget.

Today’s visit was for lights by the pool tripping. During my assessment, I saw that the receptacles that were on the same circuit were rusted and not weather resistant. I also saw that there were multiwire branch circuits in the panel not one two pole breakers and no surge protection. Customer also requested a quote for running a new circuit to the shed and replacing sub panel. Please see below for work performed today and attached for future work. Replace (7) outdoor receptacles on pool sub panel circuit Replace (2) GFCI breakers in sub panel

Arrived onsite and was led to the basement kitchen where outlets had stopped working suddenly, and no breaker was tripped indicating that something had tripped. I looked around and found a tripped gfci on the backside of that wall that once reset, restored all power to the countertop. Evidently it looked like it had tripped when the coffe maker and toaster oven were plugged in. I discussed our performance and safety assessment with them and completed that as well. I found multiple multi fed circuits in both panels, a lack of whole home surge protection, and found no bonding at the hot water heater. I wrote up a few solutions to get this done as well as discussing the vip membership and its benefits and they ended up wanting to get everything done. I took care of all 12 multifeed circuits that are now all on double pole breakers and done with properly. The surge protectors got installed as well as the new grounding

The reason for today’s visit was for the annual VIP maintenance inspection. Once we arrived at the home, we in the basement to inspect the panel, which was in good condition. As we continued our inspection throughout the home, we took note that the devices did appear to be relatively new and were all in good shape. The homeowner made us aware of an intermittent power outage in the remodeled section of the home, we discovered a damaged section of the bus bar and provided a solution to relocate/replace the damaged breaker to prevent the issue from happening again. We performed the repair, and blanked off the damaged section of the panel, and also installed a whole-home surge in the garage panel with lifetime warranty/$100,000 protection. Homeowner requested that only Dennis comes back to perform the maintenance inspections in the future.

Arrived onsite and she showed us where she needed a line for the disposal, and i went and did my performance and safety assessment as well as discussed the open splice in the attic, and a ceiling fan replacement in the master bedroom. After discussing it with her and giving the resident options, i wrote up that and we are doing the necessary work today to make everything safe and get the disposal line in, and then I am emailing the lighting project. Install a 20 amp 120v line from the main electrical panel in the basement, across the drop ceiling and up into the cabinet where the disposal will be installed. install a new 20 amp homeline breaker to power the circuit ,secure the wire going across the basement and into the cabinet upstairs.Take the wire going into the cabinet upstairs to a single pole switch we will install in a 1900 box, and then to an outlet that will be switched in the same box so when the disposal is installed, it’ll be plug and play for the plumber, but operated by t

Today’s visit was for a project to turn a single-family residence into a duplex. This would entail movie relocating a panel to the first floor of the 400 amp service, installing a disconnect for both panels, installing arc fault breakers on the panel that is being relocated, running new, grounding for both services, and surges in both panels as well.

- Arrived onsite and gave an estimate for a new Mercedes that is partially ev, and partially gas. Customer wants a nema 14-50 plug for the charger he bought to plug into next to the panel. We will pull a new 6-3 romex line from the main panel over to the 2 gang box i will install, and install the new ev outlet into. I will install a cutler hammer 40 amp breaker to power this outlet, and to comply with the amperage his charger will be pulling (32 amps). There is breakers no longer in use in the main panel so i will have to move some stuff around to install the new ev breaker, and re-use one of the 2 pole 20 amp breakers to install a new vortex surge micro as well below the panel. One outlet that comes out of the subpanel will be flipped around and at the same level as the new ev charger outlet so he has a level 1 and 2 outlet right next to one another. Discount given for a new ev charger install. Arrived onsite the next Monday after getting all the material and completed the full ins

Today’s visit was for a couple of things customer wanted to do in the home. Please see below Replace ceiling fan in guest bedroom Install (2) customer supplied receptacles Customer also asked why lights were flickering when microwave will turn on. Microwave is on kitchen lighting circuit, which is why the lights flicker. The current microwave draws a little over 8 A of power. I would recommend putting it on a dedicated circuit. Please see attached for solution to get this resolved for you.

The reason for today’s visit was a tripped outlet for the garage. When arrived there was no power at the garage and the bathrooms. I began at the panel where i saw two 150 amp homeline panels that were recently changed. Both panels had many concerns such as double taps, shared neutrals, and missing surge protection. Today we provided a solution on changing those issues. The purpose of today’s call was a tripped GFCI outlet that was located in the guest bathroom. Power is back on and home is functioning normally.

- arrived onsite and the resident showed me the wall they wanted a tv outlet fished onto. Then they took us to the kitchen where up in the peak of the ceiling, there was an old inactive smoke detector she wanted blanked off, and there is already 3 on that main floor in the required locations so it was viable from an extension ladder. During our assessment we noticed there is no surge protection in either panels, and it failed back in 22 for not having bonding. So I brought that sticker to her attention along with my recommendations, and options for today. For now, we added the missing bonding, blanked off the old smoke in the ceiling with a white round blank plate, and then cut open the garage wall to add a new outlet for the tv on the other side of the garage. Everything’s verified working.
